American Society For Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery

As a leader in this kind of weight-loss surgery, The Hospital of Saint Raphael in New Haven offers a full continuum of related care, including before and after counseling; support groups; nutritional counseling; plastic surgery referrals; and much more.

The Center for Obesity Surgery at the Hospital of Saint Raphael has been designated a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society for Bariatric Surgery and was the first center of its kind in Connecticut. Our surgeons are among the best in New England, treating approximately 450 patients each year.   

Information seminars on bariatric surgery are held monthly (usually the first Wednesday of each month) in the Cronin Auditorium of Saint Raphael's hospital.  Sessions for 2009 will be held from 5:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.on the following dates:
